International Students

At Wirreanda Secondary School we welcome students from all over the world to study with us. Our International Program caters for the learning needs of students who are eager to enhance their English language skills, achieve their learning goals and experience the culture of South Australia.

Our International Students are highly valued members of our school community. We value the contribution each of them makes to enriching our school’s community and culture.

Students receive a thorough orientation of the site to build strong relationships with their peers and homestay families. Throughout their stay they are supported by a range of Wirreanda Secondary School staff to ensure they feel a sense of belonging at our school.

At Wirreanda Secondary School we offer four International Programs

High School Graduate Program

A long-term program of more than 1 year allowing students to graduate from Wirreanda with their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Wirreanda Secondary School hosts an annual study tour for students and staff from Koishikawa Secondary Education School in Tokyo Japan. Wirreanda students connect with the visiting students, accompanying them on excursions and spending each day with these students while they are at our school.

The cultural and recreational part of the Study Tour Program can include trips to:

  •    a wildlife park, including the feeding of a koala
  •   The Adelaide Central Business District
  •    historical sites
  •   Victor Harbor.

Homestay Program

Wirreanda Secondary School manages its own homestay program for study tour programs and assists with homestay accommodation for the High School Graduate Program and the High School Study Abroad Programs.

Homestay families are carefully screened, fully police checked and selected by our International Student Programs Manager to ensure that we provide a high quality of care and safety.

If you would like to host a student, please contact us to learn more about how you can become a part of our homestay program.
