Vision

At Wirreanda Secondary School, our music program is shaped by the Department for Education’s Music Strategy. Through a dynamic music program, students enhance thinking and learning skills, improve literacy and numeracy, develop social inclusion, and experience an uplift in wellbeing. We are proud to offer students the opportunity to build passion and skills in music through our engaging programs, which include instrumental tuition, ensemble participation, and performance opportunities such as Music Nights.

Instrumental Music Program

Wirreanda Secondary School students have the privilege of accessing free of charge instrumental and vocal tuition from Department of Education registered teachers during school hours.

Wirreanda Secondary School offers the following tuition options:

  • Vocal Studies 
  • Drum Kit 
  • Guitar 
  • Bass 
  • Woodwind (Flute / Saxophone / Clarinet) 

How to Get Involved in Instrumental Music

  • Year 6 students transitioning to year 7 at Wirreanda indicate interest and/or experience at learner profile discussions
  • Existing WSS students complete an application form for your preferred instrument. Students may select one instrument only.
