Year 8 PBL Student-Led Conferences

Mon 29 May 2017

All Year 8 students will be involved in Student-Led Conferences in Week 5 this term. The purpose of Student-Led Conferences is to support students to reflect on their learning and to help them take personal responsibility for their progress. In the traditional Parent-Teacher Conversation, as held in Week 1, students are “third parties” and are not always in attendance for the meeting. This is purely a forum for parents to discuss the student with the teacher. At Wirreanda Secondary School, we are working to ensure that each student learns how to reflect on their learning, evaluate their progress and communicate this information to key people including family and friends.

Listed below is a selection of dates and times in which conferences will be conducted. Please make note of the date of your child’s conference. We acknowledge that for some parents the schedule may conflict with work commitments. If you are not able to attend, we encourage you to arrange for another family member to participate. This could be an older sibling, aunt/uncle, grandparent or family friend.
Monday 29th May – Homegroup 8A & 8B
Tuesday 30th May – Homegroup 8C
Wednesday 31st May – Homegroup 8D, 8E & 8H
Thursday 1st June – Homegroup 8F & 8G

All conferences will be scheduled between 11:20am and 4:30pm. Please book your conference via the online booking system at www.schoolinterviews.com.au using the code w2ted or by phoning the school on 8329 7287.
